Comments:
Conf KHNJ7I, two persons, DEN-MSY Mar 29, 2007, return Apr 2. On Feb 22, agent at 800-UNITED-l assured me tickets were refundable if cancelled "no later than 24 hours before the flight." I bought two tickets on that condition. I cancelled Mar l4, and learned then that the first agent gave me false information. I am not accusing her of intentionally misleading me; I believe she simply made a mistake in citing fare rules. (She should have said "...no later than 24 hours after making reservations.") I wrote to Refund Dept. July 20 requesting a refund. I have not received an answer.

UAL's reply [may be unofficial] follows:
Most of the negotiations was done by telephone. We filed in small claims court to recover the total amount. We received a check for the actual money laid out to recover expenses. We received a credit to our credit card.

We are very satisfied with the results. Getting there was a hassle.

Persistance paid off. Perhaps if more people would be willing to go through what we did, United and other airlines would see the fallacy of having personnel in India doing their reservations.

Thanks to your website we were made whole.
